Day 254:For This Child I Prayed

I used the pink version of Inspirational Memories' paper,  "Let the little children come to me" (Matthew 19:14) as the background for this page about my daughter.  I used a pinkish peach frame from Wild Asparagus, wrote a letter to my daughter and the Bible verse from 1 Samuel 1:27 onto Stampin' Up! paper, and then embellished the page with some butterflies that I fussy cut from paper by K and Co. The "sweet" and "special" tags were in my stash. Cross also from Jolee's. Journaling pen from Creative Memories.

Day 253: Precious Boy My Joy

The background paper for this page is from Inspirational Memories. I used a frame from Wild Asparagus, fussy cut images out of the bird paper from Stampin' Up! (SU), added the "precious, joy, heaven sent, blessing" stickers from my stash, and then added some mother of pearl buttons from my button box. I wrote my son a little letter on part of the SU paper, as well as the bible verse from 1 Samuel 1:27. The cross is from Jolee's. Journaling pen from Creative Memories.

Day 214: Tag Football

For this football layout, I used paper from Bella Blvd as the background on the left page.  I framed my son's team photo and individual photo with a frame from Wild Asparagus. I used a similar color green card stock from Stampin' Up! as background for the Joe Namath quote and the grid with the chipboard football icons. The grid stamp was actually part of a 6-frame postage stamp by Just for Fun. Ink was StazOn by Tsukineko. The chipboard title and football icons are by Little Yellow Bicycle. The "leather" corner triangles have been in my stash for ages.  They are from Fresh Cuts by Rebecca Sower.

The right page features paper from Jillibean Soup.  I simply added some orange photo corners (paper by Bo Bunny) to bring out the orange shirts of the players and to give a little pop from the busy background. I had some sports stickers in my stash, and added the football and helmet to give the page a little more dimension.

While these two pages aren't matchy-matchy, I think the green on the left page ties in with all the grass in the photos on the right page.  I also needed something to brighten those dark photos, since they were taken in the early evening and the light was not optimal. I think the orange shirts were tied in on both pages with the use of the orange photo corners.

Day 176: School Days Scrapbook Page

I had a lot of fun incorporating texture into this page for my son.  The aged leather-look background paper is from Paper Adventures. I layered the "sweet, smart, boy" tags by Wild Asparagus on top of a brown fabric tag and  a striped fabric tag (that almost perfectly matches my son's shirt!) by Making Memories.  I even re-purposed another fabric tag in the set to make the blue photo corners!  The blue buttons on the photo corners are from Stampin' Up! The twill I used to make the ribbon for the tag and to wrap around the letter "d" was in my stash.  I used the back side of a patterned library pocket and library card from Marcella by K to journal some information about my son in first grade. I made a ribbon to go on top of the library card, added an epoxy "school days" sticker (Brenda Walton for K and Co.) and accented it with two blue square brads (Colorbok).  I used Ranger distress ink to age the library card and envelope so it would coordinate with the background paper. I used the "Remember" tag and "2010" stickers from "This and That" by Lori Whittock.  The letter "d" is by l'il davis designs, and the other brown letter stickers are by American Crafts.

Day 165: Daddy Daughter Dance Scrapbook Page

For this photo of my daughter and husband, I wanted to focus on the pretty rosy pink color of her dress.  I found this really neat glittered scalloped heart from Martha Stewart to put behind their photo.  I layered that on top of a piece of pink vellum from Hot Off the Press, and put that over a pale yellow floral paper by Anna Griffin.  I used a "cherish" tag from the Bohemia Collection by My Mind's Eye and a "memories" tag from the Wild Asparagus collection by My Mind's Eye. I dotted the "i" in the words "cherish" and "memories" with pearls from Jolee's.  I used pink silk flowers from Prima as accents.  I put one at the top left of the page and used three at the bottom right of the page to add more visual weight. The crystal centers I used in the flowers as well as the bird embellishment are by Webster's Pages. I think this turned out to be a sweet page of my husband and my daughter and will bring good memories to mind for them when they see it.
