Day 331: Nine Piece Christmas Quilt Card

Tonight I was looking to make a really quick Christmas card, so I cut some scraps of nine different Christmas papers into 1.25 inch squares, punched out a square of  1.50 inches as a pink background, and adhered them all to a pretty green card stock.  Christmas papers by K & Co.  Plain card stock by Stampin' Up! Polka Dot ribbon by Oriental Trading Company.

Day 324: Stampin' Up! Flower Petal Cards

I received a lovely gift of earrings in the mail today from a girlfriend, and was inspired to use these lovely flower petal cards from Stampin' Up. I used some K and Co paper on the inside of the card so that the design showed through the flower openings.  I sponged a little rose distress ink (Ranger) on the top of the card, added a yellow button (SU or my stash, depending on the card) and a green Jolee's pearl in the button center.

Day 265: Give Me Faith Day 1

Today in my Breaking Free (Beth Moore) Bible Study Class, the leader of the class played the song "Give Me Faith" by Elevation Worship as a way to prepare our hearts, minds, and souls for the video we would be watching. It really spoke to me in that it reminded me of how I felt when I went to Walk to Emmaus.  I thought I would make a page of some of the lyrics.  I used puzzle pieces from K and Co., stickers by Heidi Grace, and Staz On Ink from Tsukineko and a stamp set from Stampin' Up! to add words to the puzzle pieces.  I am letting everything dry overnight and will finish this page tomorrow.

Day 254:For This Child I Prayed

I used the pink version of Inspirational Memories' paper,  "Let the little children come to me" (Matthew 19:14) as the background for this page about my daughter.  I used a pinkish peach frame from Wild Asparagus, wrote a letter to my daughter and the Bible verse from 1 Samuel 1:27 onto Stampin' Up! paper, and then embellished the page with some butterflies that I fussy cut from paper by K and Co. The "sweet" and "special" tags were in my stash. Cross also from Jolee's. Journaling pen from Creative Memories.

Day 243: Baptism Page

For this baptism page, I chose a brown background paper as there were a lot of brown tones in the photos. Paper by Susan Winget for K and Co. I used "chocolate chip" card stock from Stampin' Up! as mats for my photos, journaling, and the embellishments by Me and My Big Ideas.  I used my HP scanner to scan my actual baptism certificate into my computer, shrank it, then printed it out on "very vanilla" card stock from Stampin' Up! I wrote out the Matthew 28:19 around the mat of the cross.

Day 178: My Star

Since this is a birthday photo of my son, I wanted to focus on the number 7 and not so much on the football, so I put a piece of red paper (DCWV)  behind this blue paper with a punched-out star design. (This was in my stash, sorry I don't know/remember the manufacturer.) I used another piece of the red from DCWV underneath the photo. The big triangle acts like a giant photo corner.  I ran a small strip of red paper behind the photo to help carry the red color to the top of the page.  I accented the red strip and the corner of the page with some star ribbon from my stash.  I made a banner from the star and pennant chipboard pieces (Little Yellow Bicycle), a metal rod from K and Co., and some baker's twine from We R Memory Keepers. I used a Stampin' Write marker (Stampin' Up!) to write Happy 7th Birthday on the pennant.  I placed chipboard stars (Little Yellow Bicycle) in the center of each punched out start and then topped them off with metallic spirals from a kit by Creative Impressions.

Day 176: School Days Scrapbook Page

I had a lot of fun incorporating texture into this page for my son.  The aged leather-look background paper is from Paper Adventures. I layered the "sweet, smart, boy" tags by Wild Asparagus on top of a brown fabric tag and  a striped fabric tag (that almost perfectly matches my son's shirt!) by Making Memories.  I even re-purposed another fabric tag in the set to make the blue photo corners!  The blue buttons on the photo corners are from Stampin' Up! The twill I used to make the ribbon for the tag and to wrap around the letter "d" was in my stash.  I used the back side of a patterned library pocket and library card from Marcella by K to journal some information about my son in first grade. I made a ribbon to go on top of the library card, added an epoxy "school days" sticker (Brenda Walton for K and Co.) and accented it with two blue square brads (Colorbok).  I used Ranger distress ink to age the library card and envelope so it would coordinate with the background paper. I used the "Remember" tag and "2010" stickers from "This and That" by Lori Whittock.  The letter "d" is by l'il davis designs, and the other brown letter stickers are by American Crafts.

Day 167: Remember, Continued

I used a plain rose paper from Anna Griffin as a photo mat and layered it atop a rose floral Anna Griffin print.  I used the floral lace embellishments from Land of Lace as accents to the lower left and upper right corners of the photo. While they looked fine plain, I am glad I used the pink and green pearls from Jolee's to add some further color and dimension to the page.  I added an epoxy "Remember" sticker from Elizabeth Brownd for K and Co. to the photo.

Day 164: True Blue Friends

My kids and my niece had their photo taken. My niece started to slip off from my son, so I love how she is trying really hard to hang on to his shirt! I selected this argyle print paper from All My Memories because it coordinated well with the colors the kids were wearing and also is another pattern to play off the plaid print of my son's shorts.  I actually cut a small square of the paper from beneath the kids' photo so I could make photo corners with my Paper Shapers corner punch.  The contrasting but complementary striped print adds a little bit more pattern to the page. I used yellow and orange brads from Bo Bunny to add interest to the photo corners and to the epoxy stickers from Brenda Walton for K & Company. The True Blue Friends sign is from a kit by Sharon Soneff.  The black grosgrain ribbon was from my stash.

Day 143: A Pastel Christmas

Products from Stampin' Up! (SU), October Afternoon (OA), and K & Co. (K) give this page a soft, warm, Christmas-y feeling. For the background paper, I selected the "Swell Noel Tiny Ornaments Flat Paper" (K) because the design pulled out the pattern on Santa Claus's vest, really drawing the eye to the photo of Santa and the children. I used "Pool Party" (SU) card stock as my background for the photo and the side border.  The velvet trim (K) adds texture and grounds the photo and side border to the page.  The letter from Santa and the Christmas traditions journaling blocks (OA) add interest and memories. Felt snowflakes (SU), a Santa cut-out (K), and a decorative Christmas gift tag (?) help to round out the page.

Day 127: Family Quilt Scrapbook Page

I decided to cut a 7 inch square from the center of each of the four patterned papers from Stampin' Up that I selected for my series of family photos. I then trimmed those four squares down to 6 inches square and then put them all together to make a 4 patch quilt. I used a template from Hot Off the Press to mark cross stitch and zig zag stitches along the edges where the 4 different papers touched.  I then used my paper piercing tools to make holes for my needle to go through, threaded a needle with scrapper's floss by K & Co, and "stitched" the papers together.
