Day 205: Me and My Guy Dance

My daughter and my husband went to her Girl Scout "Me and My Guy Dance".  She wore the zebra print dress I scrapped yesterday, but this photo was printed in sepia, so I used pinks and browns to match the sepia tone of the picture.  Papers from Bo Bunny.  Flower buttons from Stampin' Up!  "Memories" title from Colorbok.

Day 176: School Days Scrapbook Page

I had a lot of fun incorporating texture into this page for my son.  The aged leather-look background paper is from Paper Adventures. I layered the "sweet, smart, boy" tags by Wild Asparagus on top of a brown fabric tag and  a striped fabric tag (that almost perfectly matches my son's shirt!) by Making Memories.  I even re-purposed another fabric tag in the set to make the blue photo corners!  The blue buttons on the photo corners are from Stampin' Up! The twill I used to make the ribbon for the tag and to wrap around the letter "d" was in my stash.  I used the back side of a patterned library pocket and library card from Marcella by K to journal some information about my son in first grade. I made a ribbon to go on top of the library card, added an epoxy "school days" sticker (Brenda Walton for K and Co.) and accented it with two blue square brads (Colorbok).  I used Ranger distress ink to age the library card and envelope so it would coordinate with the background paper. I used the "Remember" tag and "2010" stickers from "This and That" by Lori Whittock.  The letter "d" is by l'il davis designs, and the other brown letter stickers are by American Crafts.

Day 77: Take Me Out To The Ball Game

I got my son's baseball layout all put together today.  I used two papers from my stash (manufactures unknown) that looked good side by side as the background pages.  On the left page, I used royal blue title strips from Creative Memories to back my title, "Take Me Out To The Ball Game". I like to use hodge-podge alphabets, which are just a bunch of different styles of letters combined.  This is a good way to use up extra letters from prior projects.  These letters were from Colorbok, Around the Block,  and Buttons Galore, but they all worked together because they were all round and blue. On the right hand page, I just arranged the photos in a pleasing manner, then added some adhesive foam to the back of my son's baseball card to lift it up off the page and add some dimension.  I used some blue Sticko glitter letters to add "June 2009" at the bottom of the page. I will have to post photos tomorrow.  I have to go sell Girl Scout cookies with my daughter.

Day 74: You Are My Sunshine

This scrapbook page needed to coordinate with the "Bob the Builder" page I designed yesterday, and the spattered background paper (manufacturer unknown) I used on this page works perfectly.  It has browns, grays, yellows, and of course orange.  I cut the sunflowers from another scrapbook paper (TPC Studio) and used pop dots to raise them up. The chipboard letters in tones of green, orange, and yellow pull the whole page together.  (Chipboard letters by 3 Birds and Colorbok; yellow paint, used to color cream letters, by Ranger.)

Day 49: F is for Family

Continuing to work on those family photos tonight, I titled our family portrait, "F is for Family".  I used a turquoise paper from Stampin' Up! as my background page. I placed our family photo (8" x10") on the left hand side of the page. I cut down a pair of scroll photo corners from Laserline (based right here in Washington, Illinois) and put one in the upper left corner and one in the lower right corner of our photo.  I used teal pearls from Jolee's on each of the scrolls to add dimension to the photo corners. I cut out a large size black oval and a medium size turquoise oval (papers from Stampin' Up!; die cuts and machine by Sizzix), ran them through my Xyron machine, then layered the turquoise oval onto the black oval.  I used the Curlie Girlie  "F" alphabet die from Sizzix to cut out the "F" monogram from black paper, ran it through the Xyron, and layered that onto the ovals. I placed that in the center of the remaining 3.5" on the right side of the paper, even with the top of my photo. I also used  some really pretty silver alphabet brads with a black scroll design (Colorbok) to spell out "family" below the "F" monogram.  Some family definition stickers (7Gypsies), a green and turquoise rub-on (Colorbok), some turquoise ribbon from my stash, and some teal pearls (Jolee's) completed the page.
