Day 290: Reindeer Frame Card
Tonight I was inspired by a Christmas card my Stampin' Up! representative had demo'd for my stamp club. I die cut a frame from red Stampin' Up! card stock, embossed it in Cuttlebug's snowflake embossing folder, adhered it to a craft card base (Recollections by Michael's), and then used my Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to stamp the reindeer inside of the frame. My representative used a felt snowflake from Stampin' Up! at one corner of the frame, but I added my own twist and also used a snowflake brad (Creative Impressions) and a clear die cut snowflake to add more depth and dimension to the card. Clear snowflake from Sizzix die, clear material re-purposed from packaging. I added a little bling by using pearlized white Smooch at the end of the reindeer's antlers and on the center of the white snowflake brad.

Day 192: Just Flying By...
I was inspired by the airplane card my son made for his dad yesterday to create this "Just Flying By..." card for my teenage nephew. I used card stock from Stampin' Up as my background for the sky and as the card base. I used masking to make it look like the clouds (All Night Media) were in front of or behind the hot air balloons (Commotion Rubber Stamps) and the plane (unknown). I used a cotton swab to pick up ink off my Stampin' Up! Craft White ink pad and swirled it inside the outlines of the clouds to make them look fluffy and airy. I colored the hot air balloons with my Stampin' Write markers. I used Martha Stewartink on a cotton swab to color the plane silver. I layered the sky scene on top of a gingham plaid photo frame I had in my stash and backed it with some white mulberry paper (Paper Reflections). I made the "Just Flying By" banner by using my square punch diamond style on each end of my rectangle. I wrote "Just Flying By..." with a silver gel pen from Marvy, then wrote over that will a sparkly turquoise Gelly Roll pen (Sakura). I made another banner and continued the sentiment on the inside with "To Wish You a Happy Birthday!". I added a green metal swirl (Creative Impressions) as an accent on the left side of the card. Finally, I used Crystal Effects from Stampin' Up! on the airplane to bring it into the foreground and give the card some dimension. I allowed it to dry completely before scanning it to share with you.

Day 178: My Star
Since this is a birthday photo of my son, I wanted to focus on the number 7 and not so much on the football, so I put a piece of red paper (DCWV) behind this blue paper with a punched-out star design. (This was in my stash, sorry I don't know/remember the manufacturer.) I used another piece of the red from DCWV underneath the photo. The big triangle acts like a giant photo corner. I ran a small strip of red paper behind the photo to help carry the red color to the top of the page. I accented the red strip and the corner of the page with some star ribbon from my stash. I made a banner from the star and pennant chipboard pieces (Little Yellow Bicycle), a metal rod from K and Co., and some baker's twine from We R Memory Keepers. I used a Stampin' Write marker (Stampin' Up!) to write Happy 7th Birthday on the pennant. I placed chipboard stars (Little Yellow Bicycle) in the center of each punched out start and then topped them off with metallic spirals from a kit by Creative Impressions.
