Day 333: Spun Sugar Artful Card Kit: 3 Card Designs

Tonight I created three cards using some of the contents of Hot Off The Press's Spun Sugar" Artful Card Kit.

Day 312: Spun Sugar Artful Card Kit Part 1

Tonight I punched out all of the die cut shapes that are part of the Spun Sugar Artful Card Kit from Hot Off The Press.  I will have to work on designing the cards another day, but at least the die cuts are punched out and ready to be used.

Day 289: Color Me Floral Card Topper Part 2

Today I mounted my colored floral card topper onto Stampin' Up! card stock, stamped the inner sentiment, and added the "love you lots" tag, which I colored with Copic markers.

Day 288: Color Me Floral Card Topper Part 1

I colored a card topper from Hot Off the Press with Copic markers tonight.  I will finish this card tomorrow.

Day 276: Music and Roses 3-D Papier Tole Die Cuts

I ordered some 3-D die cuts from Paper Wishes catalog to build as accents for cards or my scrapbook pages. This set called "Music & Roses" is designed by Hot Off the Press.

Day 165: Daddy Daughter Dance Scrapbook Page

For this photo of my daughter and husband, I wanted to focus on the pretty rosy pink color of her dress.  I found this really neat glittered scalloped heart from Martha Stewart to put behind their photo.  I layered that on top of a piece of pink vellum from Hot Off the Press, and put that over a pale yellow floral paper by Anna Griffin.  I used a "cherish" tag from the Bohemia Collection by My Mind's Eye and a "memories" tag from the Wild Asparagus collection by My Mind's Eye. I dotted the "i" in the words "cherish" and "memories" with pearls from Jolee's.  I used pink silk flowers from Prima as accents.  I put one at the top left of the page and used three at the bottom right of the page to add more visual weight. The crystal centers I used in the flowers as well as the bird embellishment are by Webster's Pages. I think this turned out to be a sweet page of my husband and my daughter and will bring good memories to mind for them when they see it.

Day 135: Daisy Kids Completed

I chose this daisy background paper from Stemma Masterpiece Studios because it matched the colors of my niece's dress!  A sheet of vellum (Hot Off the Press) placed over the background made it a little more opaque.  I fussy cut the kids' photo from the portrait because I thought it would be cute if it looked like they were sitting in a field of flowers. Putting their photo in the corner allowed me room to spell out each of their names using chipboard flowers and sticker letters (Heidi Grace) on yellow card stock from Stampin' Up! and then make a border along the left side. I used a small Stampin' Up! flower stamp and ink to add the fuschia colored flowers to each of their name cards.

Day 127: Family Quilt Scrapbook Page

I decided to cut a 7 inch square from the center of each of the four patterned papers from Stampin' Up that I selected for my series of family photos. I then trimmed those four squares down to 6 inches square and then put them all together to make a 4 patch quilt. I used a template from Hot Off the Press to mark cross stitch and zig zag stitches along the edges where the 4 different papers touched.  I then used my paper piercing tools to make holes for my needle to go through, threaded a needle with scrapper's floss by K & Co, and "stitched" the papers together.

Day 45: Two At a Time

I have two kids, therefore, I have two scrapbooks that I am constantly working on.  Since I have a son and a daughter, my scrapping is usually pretty gender specific.  However, I can sometimes design one scrapbook page and use it for both of the kids, as I did on this scrapbook page of the photo Christmas card we sent when we bought our new house.  I usually double up on my Christmas scrapbook supplies and make the same page twice.  Once I have the initial design figured out, it only takes a few minutes longer to make that second page,  and it is one less page I have to think about designing.

For this page, I used "Mary" by Melissa Frances as the background paper. Since my kids are featured in the photo Christmas card, this paper with the print of children is well-suited. I had a background paper that I had made using the polished stone technique tucked away with my stash of Christmas papers, so I trimmed it to use as a mat for the photo Christmas card, then layered a piece of green vellum (Hot Off the Press) underneath as another mat.  As the vellum is opaque, it allows the design of the paper to show through, yet adds size and color to the page.  Stars at two corners of the photo help the eye to focus on the photo. I used snowflake ribbon (Brenda Walton for K & Co.) at the top and bottom of the page.  I also twisted some blue pom pom ribbon with silver garland (both from Lost & Found by Jen Allyson, for My Mind's Eye) to add some weight and color to the bottom of the page .I didn't know how I could attach the garland other than staples, so I just stapled all my ribbons on.  I love the vintage feel using this paper and trims contributed to the page.

Christmas is one of my favorite holidays and I had a lot of fun designing this page.
