Day 175: Father's Day Card

My son made this card for his Dad for Father's Day.  He designed the layout of the card himself; I just assisted with using the paper cutter and added some strength when he was using my punches. He used the dog image and the Father's Day verse from "For Father" by Stampin' Up! He used Stampin' Write markers to color directly on the stamps and then stamped onto white card stock. The "I Love My Daddy" stamp is from Inkadinkado; my son punched it out with a circle punch.  He also punched out three stars from Pacific Point card stock by Stampin' Up!

Day 173: Father's Day Card

If you are wondering why I am posting about making my husband a Father's Day card when Father's Day has already come and gone, it is because he was out of town for work on Father's Day.  He is due back tomorrow, so I made his card tonight.  I used a combination of Stampin' Up! stamps from "Set Sail" and "The Open Sea" stamp sets. I  stamped the sail boat image on Neenah paper with Memento ink, and then colored the image with Copic markers.  All other papers and inks are by Stampin' Up. The baker's twine is from We R Memory Keepers.  "Everything" stamp is by Penny Black.

Day 160: You Touch My Life Card for Step-Father and Lighthouse Card

For his step-father, my husband chose this dog stamp from the "For Father" set and the "You Touch My Life" verse from the "Set Sail" set, both by Stampin' Up! I used circle dies from Lifestyle Crafts to die cut the circle shapes.  I stamped the image and verse with Memento ink and colored the boots and dog with Copic markers.  I sponged a couple of different inks around the dog image. Striped background paper by Robyn Pandolph for Daisy D's. The rust card stock was from my stash; the Old Olive card stock is by Stampin' Up!

For my brother-in-law, I made this lighthouse card.  Stamp is from Repeat Impressions.  Card stock is Stampin' Up! I colored the image with Copic markers and used Sizzix die and the Big Shot to cut out the oval and frame.

Day 159: Tractor Card

For Father's Day, I made this tractor card for my husband's grandfather, who was a farmer.  Card stock is from Stampin' Up! The tractor stamp is by Hero Arts.  I stamped the tractor with Memento ink and colored it in with Copic markers.  I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder to create the tire track effect on the brown card stock. I had some tractor brads and a green hinge and brads (all from Oriental Trading Company) which I used to accent the main image.  I sponged ink over the tractor image and the card background.

Day 158: Father and Son Card

I made this Father and Son card for one of my brothers-in-law for Father's Day. I stamped the image, masked it, then sponged the grass and sky with inks from Stampin' Up! I colored the image with Copic markers. Card stock is SU, striped paper is from Daisy D's.

Day 157: The Free and The Brave Card

I made this card for my father-in-law for Father's Day, but it would work for anyone in the service, for any occasion.  I used Stampin' Up!'s "The Free and the Brave" stamp set, card stock, and inks.  The striped paper is one from my stash; I don't have manufacturer info.

Day 156: Hunting-Fishing Vest Card

My brother-in-law is an avid outdoors-man so I thought it would be neat to make him a hunting-fishing vest card for Father's Day.  All card stock, ink, animal stamps (except fish), and buttons are from Stampin' Up!  The fish stamp is from Darcie's. The twine was some I had in my stash.  I used a free doll vest pattern off the internet as the template for the vest. I found a photo of speckled trout on the web to refer to with regards to color, and my husband advised as to how one strings fish. (Who knew a card would take so much research in order to be created?!)

Day 155: Selecting Stamps for Father's Day Cards

Tonight I enlisted my husband's help in choosing stamps to make Father's Day cards for all the men in his family: his Dad, his stepfather, his grandfather, one of his brothers (we need to marry the other one off!), and two brothers-in-law.  He picked a nice variety of stamps:  military for his Dad; dog for his stepfather; a tractor and a vintage car for his grandpa (not quite sure how I will design that one yet?!); a lighthouse for his brother; animals and a pocket knife for one of his brothers- in law, and a father and son stamp for the other brother-in-law. So, I guess I know what I will be doing tomorrow....making Father's Day cards.

Day 151: Making Cards With My Kids

Today I helped my daughter to make a Father's Day card for her dad, and I helped my son and my daughter to make end-of-the-year teacher thank you cards.

Day 145: Father's Footprints Father's Day Card

In order to create this card, I used the following images from Repeat Impressions: 4028-H, "The journey of life . . ."; 2720-G, "Left Boot Print"; and 2721-G, "Right Boot Print". These were my main images on this Father's Day card I created for my Dad.  When I was a little girl, my sister and I always untied my Dad's work boots when he got home. When I saw those boot prints, I knew I had to make a Father's Day card for him. I used some "dirt" paper as my background for the boot prints and for the "journey" quote. I used my Crop-O-Dile to add gold eyelets in each corner of the dirt. I used a map from an atlas with my home town on it as a background. My Dad was a truck driver and the map ties in well with the "journey" quote. I felt like the card needed something else, so I used a compass stamp from Stampin' Up! (SU). I punched it out and mounted it on a couple of different sized circles, used my double slit punch (SU) to thread some ribbon through and then adhered an antique brad (SU). I mounted it all on Chocolate Chip card stock (SU).
