Day 280: Butterfly Stitches

I made this card for a baby shower.  Everything I bough for my gift had a butterfly in it or on it, so I wanted my card to have butterflies as well. I used pink and yellow card stock from Stampin' Up! as the card. I used the We R Memory Keepers "Sew Easy" piercer tool kit to make the dots for the stitching, and some of the yellow floss to create a trail from one butterfly to the next. I stitched the butterflies onto the card for security, alternating from dark to light yellow, ending in a multi-color butterfly to symbolize the new baby girl on the way. Crystals from Jolee's add a little bling to the centers of the butterflies.

I adapted a poem by Robin Fogle to use as the sentiment in the card:

Like a butterfly emerges
And unfolds its graceful wings
A child grows and develops
With the love only parents can bring.
Your baby is twice blessed by God:
Once because He has given her wings
And again because He chose you
To teach her to fly...

Day 266: Give Me Faith Day 2

Today I mounted the puzzle piece lyrics on a dotted green background paper from Stampin' Up! I used purple card stock (stash)  as a title border on the top of my page, and as the bottom border, where I wrote Jeremiah 18: 1-6 . I added some butterflies from my stash on either side of my title because butterflies break free when they emerge from their chrysalises and I felt like Jesus set me free at Walk to Emmaus.

Day 180: Butterflies Card

The embossed and glittered butterfly was from a demonstration I attended when I went to the Stamp Scrap Art Tour.  I believe it is from Just For Fun, but I am not certain.  I had this purple oval die cut in my scrap basket, so I fussy cut the butterfly out and layered it onto the purple oval, and then layered both onto pink card stock. I added a few punched butterflies and some pretty trim to make this a beautiful card.

Day 80: More Die Cut Storage

I spent about 4 hours cleaning and organizing my scrapbook room today, so I am tired.  I made another container to store my butterfly die cuts.  I used a pretty flocked paper by Anna Griffin to cover my peanut can, and now I have pretty (and almost free) storage!

Day 53: Stamped Light Switch Covers

I have a library that is decorated in lots of birds and butterflies.  I wanted some light switch covers that added to the decor of the room, but I have not been able to find any that I liked.  So, I went to my local ceramics shop and bought two ceramic light switch plates.  I used Timber Brown StazOn ink by Tsukineko to stamp my images onto the switch plates.  All the stamps I used were from Stampin' Up! I used chalks and a blender pen from Stampin' Up! to color the images.  I sealed the switch plates with a matte sealer I purchased at Hobby Lobby. Now I have two custom switch plates for my library.
