Webster's Pages New Year New You November Calendar Pages

These are the November pages for the Webster's Pages® New Year New You calendar class held at The Paper Forest Scrapbook Boutique in Washington, Illinois.

Page Left

We will use "Jetstream" by Bazzill® as our background for the page.  From your SCRAPS of leftover "Doilies" paper, cut out six doilies that measure 2" in diameter and one doily that measures 2.5" in diameter. DO NOT CUT THE DOILIES FROM THE FULL SHEET THAT IS IN YOUR KIT! Adhere pop dots to the backs of the doilies and adhere across the top of the page to make a border.  Apply a pearl to the center of each of the 2" doilies.  Use double-sided tape to adhere the floral cameo with blue border to the 2.5" doily.

Using Anna Griffin's Cricut® Cuttlebug® Cut and Emboss "Flourish Emblem" die, cut out the lace mat from "Pretty in Pink" card stock by Stampin' Up!®.  Apply adhesive to the back and adhere the lace mat in the center of the remainder of the page.  Cut a piece of the cream floral paper 4" wide x 5" high.  Apply pop dots to the back and adhere on top of the lace mat. Cut out a green* frame with the "Top Note" die by Sizzix® for Stampin' Up!®. Apply pop dots and adhere on top of the cream floral rectangle. Cut out the quote: "With hard work you can do and be anything your mind desires. Be your best." Apply pop dots on the back of the quote. Adhere on top of the green* frame. Apply a pearl in each corner of the pink lace mat, as shown.

Page Right

We are using the "Doilies" paper as the background for this page.  Cut a 1.75" high by 12" wide strip of "Sweet Summertime" by Crystal Wilkerson for Echo Park®.  Apply adhesive to the back and adhere approximately 2.5" from the top of the page.  Cut out a yellow zig zag frame using the "Top Note" die.  Apply pop dots and adhere in the center of the plaid strip. Mat the November calendar with green* paper. Apply pop dots and adhere on top of yellow zig zag frame.

* I raided my paper stash to find just the right color green card stock to match this line of papers. Unfortunately, I do not know who produced the paper. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Day 358: Anna Griffin: I Love You

Today I created this "I Love You" card and will most likely give it to my husband for our anniversary.

Day 357: Anna Griffin: On Your Birthday

Since we are travelling for the holidays, I brought along a card-making kit by Anna Griffin.  Anna's card kits are always fun.  She makes all the pieces and I get to have all the fun designing the cards.  The card I made today is "On Your Birthday."

Day 201: "Wild" Scrapbook Page

My son and I attended a Mother-Son Dance at his grade school.  The theme was all wild animals, so I chose to use several animal print and textured papers to create this scrapbook page.  I matted the photo on a golden yellow mat (Making Memories), then on a leather look mat (Marcella by K), and then on a black mat (Stampin' Up!). I cut four different prints into 6" x 6" squares and then attached them to a 12" x 12" piece of card stock [which is a good use for a paper you are not so keen on!].  The two papers on the left side of the page are from the "Safari Kids" collection from DCWV.  The flocked leopard paper is by Anna Griffin, and the brown zebra print is by Moxxie. Once I had all my different animal prints in place, I added my matted photo to the center of the page. I felt like the upper left print and lower right print were not as strong visually, so I used my "wild about you" stamp from Stampin" Up! to add even more texture to the prints. I spelled out my title "wild" using giraffe stickers from Momenta on the same brown leather paper I used as a photo mat. I layered that on top of more black card stock and trimmed the edges with my scalloped scissors from Provo Craft. Since the giraffe print letters were a little pale, I used a yellow Stampin' Write marker to add some yellow to mimic the layers of the photo mats. I punched a scalloped circle from black card stock to use as a background behind a re-purposed lion pencil topper.  Finally, I added black photo corners in each corner of the page to pull it all together.

Day 171: Butterfly and Lace

For this photo of my daugher, I fussy cut a green lace square from an Anna Griffin  paper and layered it atop a pink patterned paper from Stampin' Up!. I used scalloped scissors to cut a border for the 3-photo collage of my daughter. I also used the scalloped scissors to cut a coordinating Anna Griffin paper as a mat for the photo collage.  I adhered a butterfly from Webster's Pages to the center of the collage and added green crystals, also from Webster's Pages,  in each corner of the green lace.  

Day 168: School Page Using Anna Griffin Papers

I used a light blue floral Anna Griffin print paper as a photo mat for my daughter's school photo.  I layered it atop a darker blue floral Anna Griffin paper.  I also made a tag from the same papers. I used lace flowers from Petaloo to embellish the upper left corner of the photo and the top of the tag.  The epoxy flag and rose stickers are also by Anna Griffin.

Day 167: Remember, Continued

I used a plain rose paper from Anna Griffin as a photo mat and layered it atop a rose floral Anna Griffin print.  I used the floral lace embellishments from Land of Lace as accents to the lower left and upper right corners of the photo.While they looked fine plain, I am glad I used the pink and green pearls from Jolee's to add some further color and dimension to the page.  I added an epoxy "Remember" sticker from Elizabeth Brownd for K and Co. to the photo.

Day 166: Milliner Flowers

For this photo of my daughter, I chose to use this teal green paper with pink roses by Anna Griffin. I matted the photo on a brown print, also from Anna Griffin. I used fuchsia milliner's flowers (see Day 153)  to enhance the photo.  I tied some crochet ribbon (Stampin' Up!) around the stem of the flowers and put some in the upper left corner of the page. I added an Anna Griffin journaling card underneath the photo and then used the green butterfly fairy, the brown butterfly, and the cameo (all from Webster's Pages) to further embellish the photo.

Day 165: Daddy Daughter Dance Scrapbook Page

For this photo of my daughter and husband, I wanted to focus on the pretty rosy pink color of her dress.  I found this really neat glittered scalloped heart from Martha Stewart to put behind their photo.  I layered that on top of a piece of pink vellum from Hot Off the Press, and put that over a pale yellow floral paper by Anna Griffin.  I used a "cherish" tag from the Bohemia Collection by My Mind's Eye and a "memories" tag from the Wild Asparagus collection by My Mind's Eye. I dotted the "i" in the words "cherish" and "memories" with pearls from Jolee's.  I used pink silk flowers from Prima as accents.  I put one at the top left of the page and used three at the bottom right of the page to add more visual weight. The crystal centers I used in the flowers as well as the bird embellishment are by Webster's Pages. I think this turned out to be a sweet page of my husband and my daughter and will bring good memories to mind for them when they see it.

Day 163: Make Your Own 3-D Flowers

For this "birdseye" photo of my daughter, the photographer scattered a bunch of roses around my daughter's head. I thought the roses coordinated beautifully with these two Anna Griffin prints that I used as a photo mat and as a page background.  I fussy cut some roses from another sheet of Anna Griffin paper, used Pop Dots to layers the flowers for dimension, and then accented the flower centers with pearls from Jolees.  I added some ribbon with pearls to either side as borders.

Day 153: Planning Scrapbook Pages with Anna Griffin Papers

I spent a fun couple of hours visiting with my sister on the phone and selecting papers for a series of photos of my daughter.  She was wearing a gorgeous dress of rose satin overlaid with black lace, so I thought it was worthy of beautiful papers....and who makes more beautiful scrapbook papers than Anna Griffin?!

Day 130: Beautiful

Tonight I worked on a page for my daughter, which I titled "Beautiful".  The papers I used were by Anna Griffin.  I added a "beautiful" rub on from Daisy D's. I also put a few pearls in my daughter's hair.  I added a small green butterfly on the rose to cover up a boo-boo I made while adding the rub-on. I put lace on either side of the photo.  I used my Sizzix Big Shot die cut machine and the roses die from Lifestyle Crafts to cut a length of  floral material to make fabric roses.  I used some old pearl buttons for the centers.  I used my Big Shot and a leaf die from Stampin' Up! to cut the leaves out of green fabric.
